Skaggs Hyperbaric and Wound Healing Clinic works with your healthcare provider to facilitate healing of acute and chronic wounds of all types and in particular, difficult to heal wounds of long duration. Diabetic patients and patients with arterial and venous insufficiency are particularly susceptible to problem wounds. Patients are treated on a regular basis in the clinic and the latest modalities in wound care applications are used with an approximate 90% overall healing rate.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an optional adjunct to promote healing in selected wound problems and is available at the Skaggs Wound Care Center. This option involves breathing 100% oxygen in a monoplace chamber which is pressurized to two atmospheres of pressure for 90 minutes per day. This specialized treatment option speeds healing in selected diabetic wounds, chronic bone infections and radiation injured tissue. Hyperbaric oxygen is also the definitive treatment for decompression sickness in commercial and sports divers and for carbon monoxide poisoning.
