Urgency care vs. emergency
CoxHealth Urgent care is for all your non-emergency needs such as sore throats, ear infections, minor burns, cuts and bruises, fever, flu symptoms, troublesome coughs, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, minor musculoskeletal injuries, sprains, non-critical cuts that may require stitches, non-severe asthma attacks, urinary tract infections, etc.
Go to the CoxHealth Emergency Services if you have severe chest pain, severe abdominal pain, sudden dizziness with associated weakness or loss of coordination or balance, loss of consciousness associated with a head trauma/injury, sudden blurred vision not associated with a foreign body in the eye, sudden onset of numbness in the face, arm or legs, sudden severe headache that you have never experienced before, deep cuts or bleeding that won't stop, coughing up or vomiting blood, severe burns, seizures, labor pain, vaginal bleeding associated with pregnancy, poison or suspected overdose of medication.
Urgent care services should not be a substitute for a well-established relationship with your primary care provider. Contact your primary care provider for chronic and long-term healthcare issues such as depression, anxiety, diabetes, and hypertension.
