This year, Cox Medical Center Branson donated $10,000 to the Jesus Was Homeless job training program, Jobs for Life. Volunteer mentors, teachers and business representatives work with individuals on various topics to assist them in obtaining employment, including preparing for interviews, customer satisfaction, conflict resolution, and succeeding through adversity.
“Our community is blessed to have the Jobs for Life program,” says William Mahoney, President of Cox Medical Center Branson. “This program can make such a difference in our community. Sometimes finances force a family to choose between eating a nutritious meal or paying rent. Cox Branson recognizes the health benefits of a jobs program that will help those individuals get jobs and be a productive part of society.”
Mahoney recently received a letter from a Jobs for Life graduate. It read, “I learned it’s not just about getting a job and another paycheck, but rather becoming a productive member of the community and workforce. It was an exciting day when I was able to voluntarily exit public assistance programs.”
Cox Medical Center Branson is a guaranteed interview site. The next series of classes for Jobs for Life begins January 6.
