William Mahoney moved to Branson in January 2010 and began his tenure as President and Chief Executive Officer at Skaggs Regional Medical Center, which is now Cox Medical Center Branson, a subsidiary of CoxHealth. In 2012, he served as the Missouri Hospital Association’s (MHA) Southwest District Chairman and was named an American Hospital Association Grassroots Champion by the MHA. At the same time, he worked with the Skaggs Board of Directors to bring to fruition a strategic partnership with CoxHealth, an endeavor that will advance southwest Missouri’s healthcare to a new level. In 2013, the employee satisfaction rate at Cox Medical Center Branson reached the 90th percentile among 376 other healthcare organizations nationwide.
Prior to coming to Branson, William served as President and CEO of Labette Health in Parsons, Kansas for five and a half years. While at Labette Health, William and his team created the only Rural Diabetes Center in the United States. During this time, the facility also became the state’s only level three trauma center, opened up an eCare program for ICU which resulted in less mortality and lowered employee turnover below six percent.
William was the CEO of Wamego City Hospital in Wamego, Kansas for six years. In 2007, he was voted by his peers to be the Midwest representative for the American Hospital Association Regional Policy Board and voted in to be a member of the Kansas Hospital Association board.
William and his wife, Tammy, reside in Branson with 7 of their 10 children. He feels blessed to live in the Ozarks that not only has natural beauty, but is also an excellent, wholesome family environment.
